Futures, Intermediate and Advanced Ages 13 – 17
Introductory
- Futures (formerly level 1/2) are the first steps in progressive tennis. Students will engage in a variety of feeding drills, rally drills and point play to ensure the development of basic strokes and fundamentals.
Classical Foundations
- Intermediate (formerly level 3/4) is the level above our Futures program. Students enrolled in this program demonstrate adequate fundaments in most of the strokes as well as some tactical and strategic knowledge during point play. These students are able to rally consistently and serve in the correct box consistently.
- Grand Slams Girls Program is a program unique to Tennis Clubs of Canada. Data shows girls drop out of sport at a higher rate to boys in this age category. To combat this – TCC has developed a program designed to keep teen girls engaged in sport! After the on court lesson, participants will enjoy social interactive games. Snacks will be provided each week with a fun pizza party to end off the session! Contact Coach Tova for an assessment: tova-f@hotmail.com. Players should be at intermediate level to qualify.
Mastery and Refinement
- Advanced (formerly level 5) students demonstrate tactical and technical skills adequate to enter tournaments. These players also have above average athleticism that is a requirement to train and play tennis at a high level. Assessments are required to register for this program.
- Master Class – 16 and Under is a Provincial level program and is one of our performance programs in this age category. Students in this program regularly compete in tournaments, practice 3 – 4 times per week. These students allocate time to fitness development outside of programming. This is a provincial level group and entry is permitted only after an assessment.
- Master Class – 18 and Under is a National Level Program for students pursuing a scholarship and/or a professional career in Tennis.
