3/4 Court Tennis is the second step in Progressive Tennis.
Level 1-Orange Ball
This program is for players with little playing experience. The following will be introduced and developed through the session:
Physical: warm up activities to develop co-ordination, spacial awareness, and movement patterns.
Psychological: being a good sport, fair play, co-operation, and fun.
Tactical: learning court dimensions, court space, and positioning.
Technical: grips, set up, impact point, and recovery on serve, groundstrokes, and volleys.
Level 2-Orange Ball
This program is for players who are beginning to rally from 3/4 court, and should progress to a 4-6 ball rally with a partner. Players can start the point with a self fed ball. Proper fundamentals on the serve, groundstrokes, and volleys will be re-introduced, as well as the following:
Physical: warm up activities and point play situations continuing to focus on co-ordination, spacial awareness, movement patterns, and different footwork skills.
Psychological: being a good sport, fair play, co-operation, introduction to competition, and fun.
Tactical: consistency to outlast the opponent, recognizing strengths/weaknesses in themselves/opponents, and learning to start the point with a serve.
Technical: grips on serve, and volleys, and grip change for forehand and backhand groundstrokes, set up, impact point, and recovery on all strokes.
