Level	Description
Level 1.0 Complete Beginner	Just starting to play tennis. No prior experience or understanding of strokes, rallying, or scoring.
Level 1.5 Beginner	Can hit the ball over the net inconsistently. Learning the basics of court positioning and rules. Struggles to sustain a rally and has limited understanding of game strategy.
2.0 Player: Beginner with Some Experience	Can make consistent contact with the ball but struggles with control. Starting to understand basic court positioning and rules. Limited experience playing points or games.
2.5 Player: Low Intermediate	Can sustain short rallies at a moderate pace. Forehands are more consistent than backhands. Learning to serve and return consistently. Beginning to understand doubles positioning but may struggle in matches. Net play is limited; basic volleys are improving but still inconsistent.
3.0 Player: Intermediate	Can consistently rally 10+ balls at moderate pace. Forehands and backhands are more reliable, but directional control is still developing. Serves are more consistent but may lack power or depth. Beginning to implement basic strategies in singles and doubles. Comfortable with forehand volleys but inconsistent with backhand volleys and overheads.
3.5 Player: Strong Intermediate	Can rally consistently with improved directional and depth control. Starting to handle moderate-paced shots with confidence. Serve has good consistency; can place first and second serves. Comfortable at the net in doubles and improving net play in singles. Beginning to understand and apply spins. Developing court awareness and strategy for shot selection.
4.0 Player: Advanced Intermediate	Can consistently control depth, direction, and pace of shots. Reliable serves with some variety (e.g., spin, placement). Handles volleys and overheads well; comfortable attacking the net. Can execute and defend against a variety of spins. Strong understanding of strategy and positioning in singles and doubles. Matches are competitive against players of the same level.
4.5 Player: Advanced	Can vary pace, spin, and direction effectively during rallies. Serves are strong, with consistent placement and spin. Very comfortable at the net; can execute a variety of volleys and overheads under pressure. Displays tactical awareness, adapts strategies effectively in matches. Plays consistent, competitive matches against other advanced players.
